Background and content:
Intellectual property rights (IPR) plays the key role in H2020 projects. IPR must be described in detail in a project proposal and is evaluated under excellence and impact evaluation criteria. During the execution stage of the project the participants must follow lots of rules in their Grant agreement regarding protection, exploitation or dissemination of their results. Open access to scientific information is important part of dissemination rules.
Main part of the training will be devoted to explanation of intellectual property rights in H2020 rules (as these are stipulated in articles 23 – 31 of MGA). Information about legal aspects of open access will be provided. Brief introduction to intellectual property in general will be presented (e.g. description of the main intellectual property rights, with a particular focus on trade marks, industrial designs, patents, utility models, copyright and confidential business information). The training will be concluded with the presentation on IPR in project proposals.
The trainers will use their presentation skills and interactive methods (team work, quizzes or exercises with real cases) to provide you the best possible experience.

o A better understanding of H2020 IPR rules (ownership, dissemination, protection, exploitation)

Who should attend:
All the projects deal with IPR issues. It is useful for every thematic NCP to know basic IPR rules. It is necessary for legal & financial NCPs to understand this topic. This training will provide all the needed basics to the newly appointed L&F NCPs.
No participation fee. Travel and Accommodation costs will NOT be reimbursed by the NCP Academy.
